Home Bearings Looseness

Looseness

Looseness in a bearing can occur for many different reasons:

  • Bad Machine Work
  • Locking Ring or Allen Screws Not Secured Properly
  • Thermal Expansion and Contraction
  • Excessive Vibrations

No matter the reason, it's a fault that can easily be detected and avoided when a REDLINE PdM Program is in place.

You may have seen this before. This is what can happen when the looseness goes undetected.

Using the latest technologies and tools available we can identify the signs of this fault before any damage can occur, improving maintenance planning, decreasing down time and reducing catastrophic failure.

Data showing signs of looseness in October. In November, the problem is repaired leaving no damage to the shaft.
